The Implications of a Conservative Supreme Court

In late June, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his decision to step down from the United States highest court. His decision opened up a seat on the Supreme Court, granting President Trump the opportunity to appoint his second Supreme Court Justice. On July 10, the President announced Brett Kavanaugh as his nominee for next justice of the Supreme Court. If Kavanaugh becomes the next Supreme Court Justice, the United States will have a reliably conservative Supreme Court since arguably the 1930s. The court may continue to be conservative for decades to come.

Could New York’s 14th District Turn Conservative?

Houses Races are inherently boring. Competition is usually minimal and elections are often won before people even go to the polls. The majority of House Districts are very partisan to one Party or another. It is not uncommon for House candidates to run uncontested in many Districts dominated by their Party.

Like many other House Races, New York’s 14th Congressional District House Race would be uninteresting to follow. The Democratic Party has controlled this District for years now, consistently blowing out conservative candidates. This District has been unwinnable for anyone not representing the Democratic Party. By 2018, Kim Jong Un had committed to the full destruction of his nuclear program. In under a year, Kim Jong Un’s nuclear policy had reversed, as his country became fully committed to denuclearization. President Trump’s foreign policy was finally kicking in as he forced Kim Jong Un into negotiations.

The Harsh Reality of Gun Control

In wake of the recent shooting, it seems like the only thing on the news is another person yelling at the NRA and pushing for more gun laws. Yes, the Florida shooter used a legally obtained AR-15 to kill 17 students at Stoneman Douglas High School. But the reality is, further gun laws and the gun laws the Left is proposing would have never stopped the recent shooting.
